In Vinnytsia region the legalization of wages – a way to solve the problems of the shadow labour market (+photos)
March 1, under the chairmanship of the Chairman of the Vinnytsia regional state administration Valery Koroviya held a joint meeting of the regional working group on ensuring of unshadowing of economy of the region and the regional Council of businessmen at the regional state administration. During the meeting were discussed a number of problematic issues on the labor market. The head of the Executive branch of the provincial government urged businesses to fight shadow employment in the field and to promote legal employment of unemployed citizens. Valery Cow announced to the audience that the signed order of the Chairman of regional state administration, which created the regional working group on ensuring of unshadowing of economy of the region. "To date, in the priority should be the issue of higher wages for those who work legally and the problem of black market labour, which is measured in the range of 300 thousand persons. In Vinnytsia region, on average there are 1 million 600 thousand inhabitants, from them of able-bodied population - 780 thousand people. the average number of employed residents is 282 thousand people. (in the field of works of sh – 31 thousand people, in industry – 54 thousand people, in small business of 180 thousand people, in the public sector – about 105 thousand people). And according to official data, about 30 thousand people are unemployed. Therefore, the priority is the employment of the population and we cannot do without the assistance of representatives of Vinnitsa business," said Valery Cow. According to him, public sector Vinnytsia region previously, as a business entity, paid 37% tax, and now by reducing interest rates, the savings for the area is almost 450 mln. Now there is the opportunity to allocate these funds to other needs of the area:"This positive indicator may gives the opportunity to increase wages on average by 20%". During the meeting were discussed a number of problematic issues on the labor market. The head of the Executive branch of the provincial government urged businesses to fight shadow employment in the field and to promote legal employment of unemployed citizens. "You should continue to develop mechanisms of cooperation of the various categories of business. Only the synergy of the Executive and self-governing authorities, public organizations, associations of entrepreneurs and the public will help to reduce the level of the black market and get off at decent wages", - said Valery Cow.
