Chernihiv: Join Earth Hour!
Saturday, March 19, in the homes of turning off the light at 20.30 for an hour, they can join the Earth Hour by 2016. The campaign is being conducted worldwide in order to show the necessity of United action to combat climate change and save our Planet. Earth hour was started in 2007 by the world wildlife Foundation WWF in Australia. In a year this successful event has spread the world, it was attended by over 50 million people in 35 countries. Ukraine joined the world campaign in 2009. Earth hour 2015 was an unprecedented success – the action was joined by more than 7,000 cities in 172 countries. In Ukraine have joined the campaign more than 50 cities and towns, including Kiev, Odessa, Lviv, Kharkiv, Poltava and others. In addition to the symbolic light off for one hour, the current campaign emphasizes the need for daily actions of every citizen in the field of energy efficiency, environmental conservation, economical use of resources in order to overcome the problems of climate change and achieve harmony with nature.
