Chernivtsi: the mayor met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Moldova in Ukraine Ruslan Balbacana
Chernivtsi official visit was visited by the extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Ukraine Ruslan Bolbochan and First Secretary of the Embassy of Aurelian Denile. Representatives of diplomatic agencies met with the mayor of Chernivtsi Alex Kaspruk. The Ambassador was impressed by the architecture of the city, its development, and noted that Chernivtsi is a real European city. During the meeting discussed possible joint projects in the field of economy, tourism, culture. The mayor expressed interest in deepening the already existing friendly and partnership relations with the Moldovan cities. Among the areas of cooperation may be the preparation and implementation of joint projects with the support of European Union funds. The Ambassador also reported that they are now discussing the possibility of holding a trilateral economic business forum with the participation of chambers of Commerce and industry of Romania, Ukraine and Moldova to establish closer economic contacts between enterprises and entrepreneurs. Currently negotiations are under way to determine the date. Another interesting project might be to develop a tourist route Romania–Ukraine–Republic of Moldova for the promotion of tourist potential of the three countries. The Embassy also deals with the issue of opening in Chernivtsi Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova, however, this procedure requires a long period of consideration by relevant government agencies.
