In Zhytomyr presented the award named after Ivan Ogienko.
Last week in Brusilov held a solemn presentation of the all-Ukrainian prize named after Ivan Ogienko. The award was established in 1994 with the purpose of honoring the memory of the outstanding personality of Ivan Ogienko, preserving and extending new generations of his deeds and acts, which he dedicated all his life. The founders of the award are the national Union of writers of Ukraine, national Union of artists of Ukraine, Zhytomyr Zhytomyr regional state administration and regional Council, all-Ukrainian society Ivan Ohienko and the Ukrainian society "Prosvita" named after T. G. Shevchenko. For the first time the award was presented in 1995. "Everything starts with culture and self-awareness of themselves as Ukrainian. I am proud that this award for merits in development of national spiritual culture is given exactly in Polesye land", – said Deputy Chairman of regional state administration Yaroslav Laguta. This year the award was received: * Anatoly Siryk – in literature; * Irina Farion – in the field of science; * Vitaliy Shevchenko – in the field of education; * Shevchenko Evgeniy – in the field of art; * Gabinete Vladimir and Vladimir semistyaga – in social, political and spiritual activities aimed at establishing Ukraine's statehood, peace and accord in it. The winners received the diploma of the winner of the award, a commemorative badge engraved with the image of Ivan Ohienko and the inscription "the winner of the award named after Ivan Ohienko", and a monetary reward.
