In Volyn region three residents of Rivne imprisoned for 7 years for illegal possession of a car
Kovalskoy local Prosecutor's office supported the state prosecution in criminal proceedings regarding the illegal seizure of a car, committed on preliminary arrangement by group of persons, connected with violence dangerous for life and health'I of the victim, and the threat of such violence. The evening of November 22 last year, three young men-18, 19 and 20-year-old residents of the village of Khotyn Bereznovsky district, Rivne region – was found in Kovel with the man who sold the car, ostensibly for the purchase of the vehicle. To confirm the technical characteristics of the car, the attackers invited the master to drive them on city streets. During the movement one of the guys began to choke the victim, who was sitting in the passenger seat, his hands behind his neck and threaten him with a gun, demanding to calm down because the cars he no longer owned. The victim resisted. Then the other attacker splashed the victim in the face with tear gas canister. Despite this, the owner of the car managed to escape and pull the key out of the ignition. The car has sunk to the bump on the curb, hit him, has experienced mechanical damage and stopped. The attackers fled but was soon arrested by police. His guilt in the offense, young people are not recognized, saying he just wanted to "joke". The verdict they were found guilty of committing criminal offenses under part 3 of article 15, part 3 of article 289 of the Criminal code of Ukraine and appointed punishment in the form of 7 years of imprisonment each.
