Independence day of the Republic of Belarus noted at the Center of national cultures Vinnytsia region
a Large community of Vinnitsa regional Association of Belarusians gathered on 3 July in the Centre of national cultures in Vinnytsia region for the evening-meeting on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus. The decision to celebrate the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic Day determined in the course of the referendum 03 July 1996. It coincides with the anniversary of liberation of Minsk from Nazi invaders. Chief specialist of the Department on nationalities and religions of the regional state administration Iryna Stetsenko and congratulated everyone on the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus and noted the importance of brotherly relations which have developed historically between the two neighboring Slavic peoples. A minute of silence in memory of honorary Chairman of the Association of Belarusians Svirid Vasiliy Stepanovich, who died in may 2016 and remembered the names of the fallen Belarusians for the liberation of the region during World war II. Deputy Chairman of the Association of Belarusians Tishkevich M. M. stressed the importance of such meetings and noted that without friendship there is no communication between people has no value. Speeches of representatives of the Belarusian community alternated with collective performance of the Belarusian and Ukrainian folk songs. The event was held in a friendly and positive atmosphere.
