In the Zhytomyr regional state administration on 5 July, began the workshop with leaders of local self-government for the exchange of experience "Best practices in local government in the sphere of cooperation of communities: practical outcomes and benefits." The seminar was organized by the Ministry of regional development, construction and housing and communal services of Ukraine in collaboration with the Program of the Council of Europe "Decentralization and territorial consolidation in Ukraine" with the purpose of experience exchange and familiarization with the best practices of local self-government in Ukraine. The program, launched by the Council of Europe and other European structures, not only learn, but also implement the infrastructure projects initiated by the communities themselves. And this is extremely important, because a strong country can be only when it includes a strong community. During the workshop Manager of the Council of Europe Programme "Decentralization and territorial consolidation in Ukraine" Andriy Guk announced that on June 8 launched the competition "Best practices in local government in 2016" in three areas: economic activity, associations of communities and Centers of administrative services. To participate in the competition invited local authorities at all levels: regional, district, city, town and village councils. Applications will be accepted until the end of September this year, and the conditions of the contest can be found on the website of the Ministry.
