The Prosecutor's office of Vinnytsia region conducted a special operation on detection of corruption (updated)
law enforcement area established that workers Ladyzhyn penitentiary ¹39 organized criminal scheme of self-enrichment. In particular, for the provision of certain benefits (illegal long-and short-term visits, the convicts use mobile phones and sim cards and is required from prisoners or their relatives from 200 to 1000 hryvnia. The money was transferred to the Bank account indicated by the workers of the colony or received funds through the convict. To detect evidence of illegal activity of employees of investigative Department of Prosecutor's office of Vinnytsia region jointly with the Department of protection of economy General Directorate of the National police in Vinnytsia region held 12 simultaneous searches. Documented dozens of cases of obtaining officials of the penal colony bribes totaling more than 50 thousand hryvnias. During carrying out the authorized searches in the place of work and residence of the defendants seized Bank cards, mobile phones, notebooks with records that point to their involvement in the criminal offense. On these facts criminal proceedings under part 3 St. 368 criminal code of Ukraine (receiving by the official of illegal benefit for the Commission or such officer in the interests of the person who provides illegal benefit, in the interest of any third person of any action with the use of her power or official position, on preliminary arrangement by group of persons United with extortion undue advantage). Officials Ladyzhyn penitentiary ¹ 39 detained in order St. 208 criminal procedure code of Ukraine and reported about suspicion in Commission of the criminal offense under part 3 St. 368 criminal code of Ukraine. Currently the question on election of a measure of restraint, sets the other facts of extortion and receiving improper benefits from convicted officials and their relatives, and identified other persons who may be involved in the specified criminal offence.
