Chernivtsi: the villagers have built a Playground with its own forces
24 July, the opening of the practice site “workout” in the yard on the street South Ring, 1A. The uniqueness of the platform is that all stages of works — from approval of the land questions before actually administering the territory, was done on our own local residents. In October 2015 was born the initiative “Bukovina Khortytsya” and tenants at the General meeting raised the question about necessity of creation of a Playground and comfortable Park for the recreation of all residents. As a result, the tenants do the cleaning of the Park, manufactured and installed benches, litter-boxes, organized screenings and entertainment for children. At the same time began working with the documents for the transfer of the residents of this area and it leads to the creation of the Playground. Most effective was e-petition, which garnered 250 votes, and the session of the Chernivtsi city Council, a decision was taken about the time (before the creation of kindergarten in the hospital) the transfer of plots to residents for the arrangement of the Playground. The project WORKout ZONA" was supported by the British Council, which allocated funds for the purchase and installation of a sports complex on the site. 24 July saw the official opening of the site for which the residents have prepared workshops on making eco-friendly food, beading, henna painting, performances by streetworkers, the exhibition-sale of children's books, a photo exhibition of the history of the area, evening animation shows, music and treats. Not paid attention to the local MPs and the mayor Alexei Kaspruk. The history of the site is a bright example of the Association of residents of the community to achieve a common goal and demonstrates the power and potential of local communities.
