the Prosecutor of Department of maintenance of public prosecution in court of Prosecutor's office of Volyn region took part in the consideration of the court of appeal of sentence of Vladimir-Volyn city court from 03 June 2016, which the 34-year-old resident of Vladimir-Volyn was sentenced to 7 years imprisonment for serious bodily injury, entailed death of the victim. During a pretrial investigation the accused pleaded guilty and sincerely repented, actively contributed in solving the crime. The sentence – 7 years of imprisonment – the attacker was considered too harsh and appealed the verdict on appeal. Prosecutors insisted on severe punishment for the accused. Taking into account the arguments of the parties, the court of appeal of Volyn region left the sentence of the court of first instance unchanged.
