Zhytomyr region: the region finished the harvest of early grain sowing campaign continues
Zhytomyr completed the collection of early grain crops. This informs the Directorate of agricultural development of regional administration. In all categories of farms of the early crops have been harvested on the area 220,3 thousand hectares harvested 809,2 thousand tons of grain, which is 12% more than last year, productivity in the area of 36.7 t/ha. Work continues on cleaning late crops. Buckwheat gathered on an area of 1.8 thousand hectares (19% of the forecast), and produced 2.9 thousand tons, the same level as last year, the average yield of 16.1 C/ha. Millet collected 300 hectares (8% of the forecast), and produced 500 tons, which is the same as last year, the average yield of 16.7 C/ha. Started and actively the autumn sowing campaign, as 30.08.2016 the agricultural enterprises of the region sowed 16.8 thousand hectares of winter rape, which is 84% of the forecast. For sowing of winter grain crops in all categories of farms the soil is prepared in the square only 114.2 thousand hectares, or 70% to the forecast.
