Zhytomyr regional state administration expresses condolences to the families of the prominent artist Nikolay Antonovich Maksimenko, who passed away September 10, in 92-m to year of life. Zhytomyr has lost the people's artist of Ukraine, a real master of painting, bright and creative personality, but the memory of him will always remain in his creations. Nikolai Maximenko was a master of landscape and still life. Born in 1924 in the village Arapovic Zhytomyr region. People's artist of Ukraine since 1994, laureate of the State prize them. Shevchenko for a series of works "Landscapes of Ukraine". The works of Nikolai Maximenko are 40 museums in Ukraine and abroad, in private collections in France, Austria, Japan, Canada, USA, Italy. The largest collection of his paintings is in the Zhitomir Museum of local lore.
