In Chernihiv gather ideas for the construction of the Memorial to the Defenders of Ukraine

The idea of such a commemoration of heroes emerged for a long time. From September 26 to 2016 announced an open architectural competition for the best project proposal of the Memorial. This was preceded by social surveys and public hearings. The decision of the Executive Committee of the Chernihiv city Council established the relevant Commission and determined the conditions for participation in the competition. They were detailed at a press briefing in the regional state administration on 3 October. Memorial is not just a monument, but a part of life of every Ukrainian, – said Irina Berezints, coordinator of the Unified volunteer center. Therefore, to participate in the contest can not only professionals, but everyone. The participants also want to see young people with an active lifestyle and fighters ATO. The contest is not limited to the Chernihiv – ideas can come from other regions of Ukraine. It is necessary to write the application in Chernihiv city Council and to the documents for further work. Responsible for conducting the competition is the Department of architecture and urban planning of the Chernihiv city Council. As noted by the Chairman of the public organization "United family of Chernihiv region" Nikolay Shan memorial should bear the high spiritual sense, and not to be sad gravestone. It needs to convey to future generations the heroism, courage and courage of defenders of our homeland. Also in the project of the Memorial it is desirable to include innovative technologies (audio - video). Project proposals will be accepted until December 26, 2016, and the summing up will be made until 10 January 2017. The Commission will be allocated to the 3 best projects. Participants will receive a monetary award in the amount of 10, 6 and 4 thousand hryvnias respectively. And the most important award for the winner of the contest, as noted by Irina Berezints will be the implementation of the project in the future. If the winners are no specialists for the realization of the project, they can involve the work of specialists of the necessary fields. If the Commission will not determine the winner, the competition will be postponed. Part of the funds for the construction of the Memorial will be allocated from the city budget, part of it is planned to collect with the participation of active citizens who care about the fate of their city.
