In the Ternopil region improving the material-technical base and the conditions for rehabilitation of children with special needs
With the aim of studying the status and needs of existing institutions of the region working with children with special needs, Vice-Chairman of regional state administration Yuriy Eureka in conjunction with the Director of the Department of social protection Vadim Boyarsky visited Ternopil regional center of social rehabilitation of disabled children, and Petrikov regional municipal orphanage-a boarding school. This year the regional budget allocated 755 thousand hryvnias on repair and reconstruction of premises of the rehabilitation center, is now in the final stage. Reference: Municipal establishment of Ternopil regional Council "Ternopil regional center of social rehabilitation of disabled children" working with children from 2 to 18 years who have obtained the status of disabled, children with physical and mental disabilities, infants at risk for the direction of medical institutions at the place of residence of the child. From January 2016 social rehabilitation services were provided for 74 children (duration of the rehabilitation course for 6 months). Services are provided in individual or group sessions (the number of children with disabilities in the group is from 2 to 8 people), consultation, individual support and assistance, tailored taking into account individual characteristics, needs, level of development and status. Areas of work: - early rehabilitation; - psychological-pedagogical rehabilitation; - vocational rehabilitation; - social and domestic rehabilitation; - physical rehabilitation; In Petrikovsky children's orphanage is home to 88 on the wards. Children with intellectual disabilities, disabled of II group. Operates a youth Department where the patients can be up to 35 years.
