Ekaterinovskiy colony was visited by representatives of the General Prosecutor's office
Kataranovski penal colony ¹ 46 of the State penitentiary service of Ukraine in Rivne oblast with a working visit 28.10.2016 called for the head of Department of supervision of observance of laws at execution of court decisions in criminal cases and of other coercive measures in prison the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Vyacheslav Swezy, Deputy chief of this management Vladimir Fito, the first Deputy Prosecutor of the Rivne oblast Igor Olshanetsky, as well as other prosecutors of the General Prosecutor office of Ukraine and the Prosecutor's office area. The purpose of the visit was to check the status of the constitutional rights of convicted persons, the procedure and conditions for serving their sentence. Accompanied by employees of the State penitentiary service of Ukraine in Rivne region and in said colony, the prosecutors made a tour of the facility and its buildings and manufacturing area, medical unit, living room, dining room, exercise yards. The head of Department of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Vyacheslav Swezy talked with the prisoners, was interested primarily in their conditions of detention, medical care, relationships with administration agencies, etc. He also held a personal reception of prisoners, during which they had the opportunity to put before the Prosecutor a number of questions. The main issues that interested the condemned is the use of the incentive of legal norms on persons with long prison sentences, the issue of employment after release and so on. For individual cases the convicted was given. The results of the bypass, a meeting was held where the representatives of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine pointed out some violations of the conditions of detention and the rule of law in Katerinovka corrective colony (No. 46). The priorities of the prison service remain bringing detention conditions closer to European standards, implementation of appropriate educational work with prisoners during sentence and preparation for their release.
