A meeting was held of the Working group on the protection of the quality of transboundary waters of Ukrainian-Slovak Commission on border waters
in Accordance with the agreement between the Government of Ukraine and the Government of the Slovak Republic on issues of water management in frontier waters (Bratislava, Slovak Republic, 14 June 1994) and of the minutes of the XIV meeting of the Ukrainian-Slovakian Commission on border waters in Stakcin (Slovak Republic) hosted the meeting of the Working group on the protection of the quality of transboundary waters of Ukrainian-Slovak Commission on border waters. The Ukrainian part of the Working group, composed of representatives of the State ecological inspection in the Transcarpathian region and Basin management of water resources of the Tisza river, was headed by E. Fencik, the Slovak part of the Working group – G. S?kowa. During the meeting experts have determined that the task of monitoring the quality of border watercourses in 2016 were performed in accordance with the work Plan for 2016 and minutes of the XIV meeting of the Commission. The working group continued work on the draft “Procedure on the Ukrainian-Slovak border waters of sampling, analysis, assessment of water quality and the measures taken during emergency water quality deterioration”. In addition, the Parties agreed on a work plan of the Working group on the protection of the quality of transboundary waters of Ukrainian-Slovak Commission on border waters in 2017, the timing of sampling of water in 2017 on frontier watercourses of the rivers Uzh, Latoritsa, Tisza, Lanes, Oblanca and joint sampling of water at the territory of the Slovak Republic and Ukraine.
