In the Vinnytsia region for the introduction of regulation of prices and reimbursement of the cost of Government selected drugs from cardiovascular disease,type II diabetes, and bronchial asthma
Recall that the Government decided to introduce from 1 January 2017, the state regulation of prices for medicines from cardiovascular disease, diabetes type II and asthma, which should ensure lower prices. "Ukraine – the second in the world in number of deaths due to cardiovascular disease. In 2015 in Ukraine was 9.5 million patients with hypertension, about 1 million people who suffer from diabetes type II, which is 6 times more than patients with type 1 diabetes (insulin dependent), and 210 patients with bronchial asthma" emphasizes commenting on the initiative of the Government Vice-Chairperson, the Director of the Department of education and science of Vinnytsia regional state administration Igor ivasjuk. "And certainly providing access to free medicines from chronic diseases will save lives of thousands of Ukrainians", - said Igor ivasjuk. A pilot project for the reimbursement of drugs for hypertension, entered in 2012-2014, showed the following results: in 11 regions where the pilot work, the mortality from all forms of hypertension decreased by 19%, the number of strokes decreased by 18%. Officials also promised that the shortage of medicines will not. The government has enough tools to counter those who want to play in a shortage of medicines. Moreover, foreign pharmaceutical companies are not profitable to lose a big market – last year the sales volume of medicines in Ukraine amounted to 42.6 billion UAH. While 59 per cent from the sale of imported drugs, 41% – domestic (although in quantitative terms (number of packages) the reverse proportion – 24 percent are imported drugs, 74 per cent domestic, but the price of imported drugs are significantly higher).
