In Ternopil honored the memory of victims of Chernobyl
14 December in Ukraine is traditionally held the Day of honoring liquidators of the Chernobyl accident - the people who gave their life and health were able to overcome the terrible tragedy of the 20th century that occurred on 26 April 1986 at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant. In Ternopil, near the monument to victims of the Chernobyl tragedy took place the meeting-Requiem. The liquidators together with the public Ternopil mentioned a fellow who gave his life to save the country from radiation risks. Participated in the activities of the first Deputy Chairman of regional state administration Ivan Krysak. "Through a terrible tragedy – the Chernobyl accident - Ukraine has lost part of its territory, which became uninhabitable. But its effects - thousands dead, thousands maimed from the supposedly peaceful nuclear energy, which has killed and continues to kill, unfortunately, our people. Tens of thousands of Ukrainians have become refugees. Therefore, we must frankly say that it was a real genocide against the Ukrainian people, which made the genocidal Communist regime. Therefore, we pay tribute to all those who gave their health and lives to protect us and the world from the consequences of Chornobyl catastrophe. Low bow to You for the courage, heroism and strength of spirit in overcoming the consequences of the accident. Eternal memory and honor of those whose lives were interrupted deadly atom", - said Ivan Krysak. In General, the region is on the account 44 056 persons who have the status affected by the Chernobyl disaster. Of them - 970 persons with disabilities; 2 472 participants of liquidation of consequences of Chernobyl accident; 34 471 suffered as a result of the Chernobyl accident; 34 471 people who were evacuated from the exclusion zone and resettled from the radioactively contaminated territories; 7 113 children affected by the Chernobyl disaster; 501 widow of deceased citizens, whose death is related to the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster. We will remind, honoring the participants of liquidation of consequences of Chernobyl accident takes place in Ukraine since 2006 of 14 December, on the date of completion of the sarcophagus over the destroyed fourth unit of the Chernobyl NPP.
