About the successful results of the implementation in Zhytomyr region phase III of the joint Project of the European Union and the United Nations Development Program "Local development, oriented on colossus" spoke December 15 at a meeting of regional coordination Council on implementation of the Project. The event was held with the participation of the first Deputy Chairman of the regional Council Sergey Kramarenko and Director of the Department of economic development, trade and international cooperation of the regional state administration Alexey Shatilo. During the implementation of phase III of the Project in Zhytomyr oblast under the rural component attracted almost 10 million UAH from the city – more than 11 million UAH. Implemented and embedded, 64 micro-projects initiated at a meeting of residents, supported by the government and the Project. This repair and rehabilitation of kindergartens and schools, medical facilities, restoring access to clean water, installing energy-saving street lighting. In the third phase of the Project involved Andrushevsky, Berdichevsky, Korostensky, Luhyny, lubarsky, Romanovsky, Ruzhyn, Chudnovsky district, and the city of Novohrad-Volynskyi and Korosten. According to Alexey Shatilo, those micro-projects that are implemented in villages and towns, promote the development of territories of communities and civil society, which participates actively. He urged heads of areas to implement existing projects and develop new initiatives. The meeting participants familiarized with the results already improve the lives of people in the Zhytomyr region, and communities of the region have received certificates on successful completion of the microprojects. Subsequently, in Zhytomyr region successfully began the second phase of the Project in October 2011.
