A special Commission in re the burn unit of emergency hospital of Ternopil
Order of the mayor Sergey Nadal created the special Commission which will consider the issue of conversion in the burn unit of the Ternopil municipal emergency hospital in the Department of polytrauma with burn patients. The Commission included representatives of the relevant Department of the city Council, doctor of medical Sciences Vladimir Bihuniak, doctors, deputies, representatives of state administration and the Ukrainian Council of protecting the rights and safety of patients. It tells the Deputy head of the Department of health’I and medical support Olga Yarmolenko, there has been a decision of the Executive Committee concerning the conversion of the burn unit, which was designed for 25 beds, in the Department of polytrauma with saving 10 burn beds. “This decision was made after careful data analysis and in accordance with the law. Because this medical service – is a service of the third level, and the city Council, according to the reform plan must provide medical services of the first and second levels. In addition, this office was the only to all residents of the region, however, was funded solely by the city budget, - says Olga Yarmolenko. For the needs of the city there is no need to contain a number of beds. At that time, in Ukraine the average static data of 0.21 beds per 10 thousand population, in our city, this figure has been exceeded several times and is at 1.21. I also want to note that after the conversion of the Department of medical service management of burn injuries should have been saved”. However, in SV’connection with the treatment head of the Department of burn injury and plastic surgery of the Ternopol city hospital of ambulance, and his colleagues from other cities, to the end of the year a special Commission should examine the feasibility of conversion of the office and to provide their insights.
