The event is dedicated to the 37th anniversary of the invasion of the former USSR from the Republic Afghanistan. The memory of soldiers-Afghans and Ukrainians, who were killed in the fighting on the territory of other States present at the event observed a minute of silence. "As if political considerations had not interpreted the stay of Soviet troops on the territory of the Republic of Afghanistan in 1979-1989, we, the participants of the war in Afghanistan, have been and remain in the memory of the soldiers that had properly performed their duty", – said the Chairman of the regional Union of veterans of war in Afghanistan Peter Killeshin. From Vinnytsia oblast in the Republic of Afghanistan he served 3193 countrymen, of whom 143 were killed, including three missing, 182 wounded, 116 – injury. There are a network of civil society organizations which protect the interests of the soldiers-internationalists who cares about tribute to the fallen, support the families of those whose lives were claimed by the Afghan war.
