Rostislav Blackbird: In the Ternopil region family care predominate over boarding schools
In the Ternopil region decreases the number of orphaned children and children deprived of parental care. This was reported by head of regional service for children of Ternopil regional state administration Rostislav Thrush. Currently live in the region 1072 the children with the appropriate status. "With the objective of socio-legal protection of children work on their family forms of upbringing. 966 children are brought up in family forms of education. Of them: 735 — in families of guardians (including 28 children with special needs). 231 orphaned children and children deprived of parental care found family warm and cozy in foster homes and orphanages of family type. Currently in the region there are 9 children's homes of family type and 128 foster families", — said Rostislav Thrush. Analyzing the past year, there is a reduction (from 10% to 9.4%) in the number of orphans and children deprived of parental care who are educated in boarding schools, says Rostyslav Thrush.
