Rivne region Prosecutor's office protects the constitutional rights of citizens held in places of unfreedom
Bodies of Prosecutor's office of Rivne region held in 2016, the number of successful inspections in the field of supervision of observance of laws at execution of court decisions in criminal trials, as well as the application of other coercive measures related to restriction of personal liberty of citizens. Special attention was paid to the observance of the rights of prisoners in the institutions of state penal service and special institutions of the National police in line with European standards, the issue of their appropriate medical services, to prevent abuse and ensure rights to protection. On the violations of the rights of prisoners and the failure to provide for enforcement of sentences not connected with imprisonment, the Prosecutor's office essentially responded. So, in this area made by prosecutors last year 153 documents of reaction by results of which consideration in a disciplinary responsibility brought 81 official. 2 more officials prosecuted for corruption offences to criminal prosecution and 1 administrative. In response to the Prosecutor's office secured the passage of a survey of more than 20 HIV-positive prisoners and 6 of them received treatment, 3 convicts sent to hospital, 1 prisoner had proper medical care. In establishments of execution of punishments of area not cleared the arrears of wages to the persons released from places of imprisonment, and prisoners who are serving sentences. In addition, thanks to the principled and consistent position of the Prosecutor of the Rivne region in the field of observance of laws at execution of court decisions in criminal cases, the budget received more than UAH 1 million as payment of convicts fines, as the main types of sentences of past years.
