Chernivtsi: How to reduce the risk of injury during ice

Chernivtsi city Department of management of Public service of Ukraine in Chernivtsi region offers simple recommendations on how to protect yourself from significant troubles in the period of ice. Before leaving the house: • Make on soles and heels of your shoes “ice cleats”: o attach to the heel before the release of a piece of foam (the size of the heel) or adhesive plaster; o apply the adhesive plaster or insulation tape on dry Shoe soles and heels (cross-wise or step) and before an exit grate sand (single – two days is enough); o grate sandpaper the soles before going out, and better attach it on the bottom (but the water grit sand paper sooner or later crumble); o spread on the sole glue type “Moment” and put shoes on the sand, then boldly go out into the street. • Remember that the best for ice are the soles of microporous or other soft basis and without large heels. • Elderly people better in the “slippery days” never to leave the house. But if the need made, don't hesitate to take a stick with a rubber tip or spike. If you have a bag, it must only be such that can be worn over the shoulder. Remember that two-thirds of the injuries people older than 60 years receive in the fall. • Walking pregnant women in the ice without an escort -hazardous to health. • Do not walk unnecessarily on the street if you are weak and awkward.
