In the Rivne region of the organizer of the mass production of counterfeit alcohol sentenced to 3 years imprisonment
Thanks to the coordinated actions of the Prosecutor's office of Rivne region and territorial divisions of tax police in a short time investigated criminal proceedings and a court conviction in respect of a person, which has organized a clandestine plant for the mass production and sales of illegally manufactured alcoholic beverages. The actions of the guilty person qualified under part 1 article 204, paragraph 2 article 204, part 1 of article 199 of the criminal code of Ukraine and according to the verdict of the court sentenced to imprisonment for a term of 3 years with a probation period of 2 years. Collected in the course of pre-trial investigation and examined in court evidence established that the illegal activities of the man adapted warehouses with a total area of nearly 600 square meters, used expensive modern equipment, fake excise duty stamps. The cost of the seized equipment and of illegally manufactured alcoholic beverages 17 names of well-known manufacturers, as established by the court, is 6.4 million. As the head of the Department of supervision over observance of laws by the state fiscal service of Prosecutor's office of Rivne region Viktor Mydlowec, just as in 2016, the prosecutors sent to the court 10 indictments against the perpetrators of the crime under article 204 of the criminal code of Ukraine - illegal production, storage, sale or transportation with a sales objective. 9 of them have already been considered by the courts with convictions. During this period, in the framework of criminal and administrative proceedings were withdrawn from illegal circulation more than 26 thousand liters made substitute, and 21 thousand liters of alcohol. As a result, the consumer market was not hit nearly 53 thousand bottles of counterfeit vodka, what prevented possible harm to human health and losses to the state budget in the form of uncollected excise tax in the sum about 2 million UAH. The work of law enforcement bodies in this direction focused on the real counter against these negative phenomena with the aim of preventing the facts of mass poisoning of people that took place in Kharkiv region.
