within the framework of the project "School for young speakers – debate clubs in Vinnytsia region" 20-21 January experienced teacher and trainer from Poland Jaroslav Vasek will conduct a two-day training for 27 teachers from all districts of Vinnytsia region. The moderator of the event was the head of the Secretariat of FOAMS Victor Wakaluk. Opening the seminar, he said: "this event is the first stage of the joint project of Vinnytsia regional Association of local authorities and the Fund "Verso" (Republic of Poland) with the support of marszalkowska Council of the ??d? Voivodeship of the Republic of Poland". The aim of the project is to develop skills useful to functioning of a democratic society, such as teamwork, critical thinking, interpersonal communication, public presentation of its position in the debate, research and proper presentation of arguments. The faculty of Humanities of the 27 districts of the region will learn how to equip students with the skills of using the method of "Oxford debate". With a salutatory word to participants addressed the Vice-Consul of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Vinnytsia Wojciech Mrozowski : "I, as a representative of the Polish side, extremely pleased that Ukraine uses the experience of Poland in the reform of education, the development of civil society. We are very close neighbours, therefore, given the processes that are now in the world, must move in the same direction." In turn, Igor Ivasyuk said that teachers are "the driving force in the formation of the young elite of the Ukrainian society". "Our joint project, which is organized with the support of Vinnytsia regional Association of local authorities, thanks to our Polish friends, enables the active part of young people to realize themselves. Just you will play the role of their mentors,- he said.- Ukraine now is on the path of decentralization and strengthening of local authorities, which Poland took place 10 years ago, so the experiences of our Polish neighbours will be very useful for us". Lyudmila shcherbakovskaya in his speech, called the project a breakthrough for the teachers of Vinnytsia region, which tend to be in line with the development of the European countries. After the inauguration, a two-day seminar began its work in the format of free communication. For reference: Selection of participants the project was carried out, LOOMS in conjunction with the Department of education and science of Vinnytsia regional state administration. They were the most active educators, working with the senior classes of the 27 districts of the region. In addition, under the terms of the project, teachers who were trained on methods of "Oxford debate" should help to create in their schools debate clubs in which the number of participants must be more than 8 people. The next phase – study visit of the teachers to the Lodz province of Poland, which will be held from February 26 to March 4, 2017. In June of this year, held a solemn conference, where will be presented the skills of debate to a large group of participants, authorities in Vinnytsia region, the ??d? Voivodeship and the media. The students will have the opportunity to test skills in front of the independent, a wide range of listeners which will be appreciated with diplomas and small gifts for each participant.
