Unification Day in Ternopil, paid tribute to the fallen heroes of
dedicated to the memory of fighters for the unification of the ZUNR and UNR "United Ukraine" took place on 22 January at the Mykulynetske cemetery in Ternopil, on the occasion of day of Conciliarity of Ukraine. In the commemoration event was attended by representatives of the authorities of the city and region, as well as ordinary citizens. A solemn laying flowers to the graves of the heroes who died in the struggle for the freedom of Ukraine. "The legacy we left a bright example of how to love their country and fight for its independence. We must remember the heroism of our glorious ancestors and dignified end of their initial noble cause" — noted first Deputy Chairman of the Ternopil regional state administration Ivan Krysak. Let's remind, that on this day, January 22, 1919 at Sofia square in Kiev was solemnly proclaimed the Act of unification of the UNR and ZUNR. This was a deliberate manifestation of the will of Ukrainians to the formation of the political nation and the first in over 600 years a clear step towards unification of the Ukrainian lands.
