Sergey Savchuk: Almost 4 fold increase in the number of households that have installed solar panels in 2016 compared to 2015 (photos)
2016 was a breakthrough from the viewpoint of the shift of Ukrainians to clean sources of energy. Thus, over the year the number of households that have installed solar panels has increased almost 4 times in comparison with the year 2015 and to 1109 244 households. "Important is the fact that the amount of power solar panels has increased almost 7 times: from 2.2 MW as at the end of 2015 to 16.7 MW in the end of 2016. That is, households have begun to install a more powerful panel than before", - commented on the statistics, the Chairman of the Saee Serhiy Savchuk. Such impressive results have contributed to strong state policy in the field of renewable energy. In particular, the incentive was introduced in 2015 by the Law ¹514-VIII "green" tariff for purchase of electricity produced by solar installations in private households with capacity up to 30 kW, which is pegged to the Euro. "Thanks to this Law, households became profitable to install solar panels and take care of their independence, - said Serhiy Savchuk. - For everybody who is set in 2016, the solar electrical power up to 30 kW, there is a fairly high "green" tariff at the rate of 19 cents per 1 kWh. It is for this tariff to those households, which consume less energy than you produce, you can sell it over the network, i.e. to earn". Significant is the growth in the number of private households that switched to solar electricity. So, in the 1st quarter of 2016, their number increased by 22.1% compared to the previous period, in the 2nd quarter was 44.3%, in the 3rd quarter – even by 45.4%, and, interestingly, in the 4th quarter of 77.4 %. "All of these statistics – a bright reflection of the effectiveness of state action, in particular the adoption of a truly efficient Law. This is an effective mechanism of attraction of the population to use renewable energy sources", commented the head of the Agency and recalled that the Act was developed in conjunction with the Saee.
