In the Ternopil region improve access of citizens to free legal assistance

5 January 2017 entered into force the Law of Ukraine "On High Council of justice", which amends the Law of Ukraine "On free legal assistance" in terms of expanding the circle of persons entitled to free secondary legal aid. In particular, at the present time for the services of a free lawyer to represent the interests of the person in court and in other enterprises, institutions and organizations are entitled to the following categories: low-income persons, i.e. persons, the average monthly income does not exceed two minimum subsistence levels; with disabilities who receive pension or social assistance, does not exceed two minimum subsistence levels; - nutrixo persons and persons who apply for such status; - children-orphans, children deprived of parental care or those who are in difficult life circumstances; the war veterans and participants of hostilities, including members of ATU and persons who expect to receive such status; - refugees or persons who applied for refugee status, as well as foreigners and stateless persons detained for identification and forced doranna; - rehabilitated persons; - persons against whom the cases on restriction of civil capacity (recognition incapacitated or restoration of legal capacity) or on the provision of involuntary psychiatric care, during the pendency of this case; For 2016 Ternopil local centers of free secondary legal aid and its structural divisions (district legal aid Bureau) accepted and consulted 3186 people, of which 395 were given free lawyers.
