In the Ternopil region launched a new project to support media reform

Since February in the Ternopil press club launched a new project called "Integrated support of print media in different regions of Ukraine in the process of privatization and the establishment of their independent activities." It will be implemented in partnership with press clubs of Zhytomyr, Sumy, Kherson and Uzhgorod and with the support of “Ukrainian media project” (U-Media), implemented by Internews in Ukraine and funded by the U.S. Agency for international development (USAID). Thus Ternopil press club will continue to work in this important area, started last year with the assistance of the Media, NUJU and regional administration and Council, expanding the scope and upgrading it. The essence of the project is to provide a wide and diverse support print media 5 regions of Ukraine in the process of privatization according to the Law of Ukraine "On reforming state and communal printed mass media", and the early stages of their independent activities. This will include professional legal assistance, assistance in the mastery of modern methods of journalism, as well as training of managers and employees of the media, newspaper management and content monetization. In addition, the implementation of the project through a network of independent press clubs from different regions will provide extensive coverage and discussion of the divestiture of the Newspapers, to accumulate and disseminate best practice to solve actual problems on the ground. During the 8 following months in Ternopil and with each of the above regions will be organized in 5 sessions that they will be certified professionals, and the topics will cover all the main areas relevant to managers and staff publications in the course of privatization and the subsequent establishment of independent activity . In particular, it will address the issues of legal protection and reduce potential risks, development of necessary documentation, implementation of advertising services and the like. Devel annulations, providing practical recommendations and provisions of the law on privatization of communal Newspapers. And also feature the work of local print media in terms of further implementation of the administrative-territorial reform. For effective legal support in the framework of the project will always be a centralized "hotline", which if necessary can contact the managers and workers of editions not only of regions-participants, but also from all over Ukraine. Advice will be provided an experienced lawyer and through email. And also will appear on the websites of the press clubs of the 5 regions and in the partner online media. Open discussion of the most acute problems of privatization to find effective solutions and exchange of existing experience will provide a teleconference between the regions live. With the aim of providing practical assistance to the drafting teams and their leaders will be issued and distributed for free special allowance.
