Stepan Barna: it is Important to work out the option that will give the opportunity to reintegrate the Donetsk and Lugansk region in the Ukraine

Stepan Barna believes that the state today has sufficient resources to ensure the optimum functioning of the energy system of Ukraine. This he said on Tuesday, February 14, during the live broadcast on TV channel 112. However, he noted that the development of power supply strategy is long overdue. The fact that the government has actively embarked on this is extremely important. "What is now needed for all of us? This is to maximize the minimal consumption of energy resources in the country. Without it is impossible to move forward. In fact, the problem of energy independence of Ukraine is not the place for a year or two, and already the second decade. It has now reached a critical boundary. But history has many examples when it is at such critical moments is one of the most optimal solution." Stepan Barna has reminded that in 90-x years Ukraine has started the fight against energy dependence on Russia. This process is particularly intensified in 2005-2010 years – then stimulated the domestic consumption of coal and domestic gas production. At the same time he noted that the process of transition to more efficient consumption and use of alternative fuels – is quite difficult. "As the Head of the regional administration I would like to note, for example, in order to reduce gas consumption by 20% in the education system, we had about 100 million UAH to send for the conversion of the fuel. Plus they had to carry out a series of energy efficiency measures – replacement of Windows, insulation of roofs and so on. As in the whole Ukraine – we need a whole range of activities. That is, the transition to the economical consumption is not easy, but necessary," said Stepan Barna. Commenting on the possibility of a full blockade of the occupied territories of Ukraine, Stepan Barna noted that in the East of Ukraine still reside those who have a Pro-Ukrainian position. Therefore, it is important to fulfill the visions of development, which will provide an opportunity to reintegrate the Donetsk and Lugansk region in the Ukraine. Answering the question leading channel 112 in the support from the IMF (the Memorandum on granting Ukraine billion of the next tranche must sign for a few days – ed.), the Chairman of the Ternopil regional state administration noted that the funds the IMF provides when he feels confidence in the efficiency of their use. "That is a policy that is the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman is clear and understandable for international organizations. This wouldn't have happened if it were not for the trust to the steps that are implemented by the government and the reforms introduced by Ukraine". This was reported in the Ternopil regional state administration
