The contribution of the Patriarch Joseph in all spheres of Ukrainian society is difficult to overestimate. His spodvizhnitsa the activities of the Patriarch Joseph demonstrated the invincibility of the spirit in the struggle for spiritual values, for their people, for their Ukraine. The Patriarch Joseph was a forerunner of the revival of Ukrainian independence and statehood at a time when others talked about it with doubt. Instructions of the Patriarch remain relevant still. They are especially important in difficult times. They are forced to work despite the discouragement that often is sowing among us the enemy. They are forced to think with respect of Ukrainian patriots who died for Ukraine. The Patriarch Joseph said: “Learn on the bright pages of Ukrainian history and work on yourself so that You get what Your Parents fought, suffered and died for”. This is the answer to those — who tells us that history, spirituality, language, culture, traditions are less important than the economy. To be yourself, to live in unity, to rely on own strength, learn and work for the good of the Motherland!
