Chernigov: a competition for the best preliminary offer of two stelae in the composition of the Glory Memorial took place
Yesterday, March 2, in the print media – the newspaper of the Chernihiv news – 7 days – official announcement of the recognition of the competition for the best sketch offer images of bas-reliefs is removed from two stelae in the composition of the monument of history of local value – the Memorial complex of glory of soldiers, partisans and underground fighters and the tomb of the unknown soldier that did not take place. The fact of the publication means the de jure end of this contest and the chance to declare it again, for the second time. That is the recommendation given by the contest Committee, taking the decision. Also procedural, for the reissue announcements still required the decision of the Executive Committee of the city Council. So on the re-announcement of the contest will be announced later. As it was informed earlier, during the submission of proposals from November 21, 2016 January 20, 2017. The city Council received 3 applications of physical and legal persons of the intention to take part in this competition. In the terms defined by the regulations on the holding of the contest (21 November 2016, 20 January 2017), the office of architecture and urban planning of the city Council provided one (1) competitive offer. Paragraph 6.7 of the said Regulations on the competition set that the competition is considered valid if it is filed no less than three preliminary proposals, of which at least one of the jury of the competition considers it possible to award the prize. Objective of the contest is to perpetuate the images of the new reliefs of the later period of the history of Ukraine: the era of the Ukrainian Cossacks (second stele) and the era of the national liberation movement of 1917 - 1921 (third stele). The new reliefs should create a complete architectural and monumental composition and a common thematic space of the Memorial complex to perpetuate the heroic past of the Ukrainian people.
