According to Sergey Grigorenko, in accordance with the regulations of the Commission on the issues of granting the status of volunteer fighters of anti-terrorist operation, this status is granted to persons from among the residents of the city who are part of volunteer units that were formed or organized themselves to protect the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, took part in anti-terrorist operations, ensuring its implementation, being directly in the combat area for a period of not less than 21 days, but in the future, not part of the Armed forces of Ukraine, Ministry of internal Affairs of Ukraine, The national guard of Ukraine and other educated in accordance with the laws of Ukraine of military formations and law enforcement agencies. The Deputy mayor congratulated Sergei Kovalchuk, a representative of the Ukrainian Volunteer Corps "Right sector", noting that it is the first in Lutsk, who received the status of volunteer fighters.
