Stepan Barna: Chapters communities should realize their responsibility for unauthorized waste dump
In the region, to avoid dumps plan to establish centers for waste collection, which will be a waste sorting line. Heads of local communities to prevent illegal dumping will be fined. "Along the Dniester river State environmental Inspectorate has already conducted a survey. In places where there are landfills conducted by the regulations to the chairmen of the communities that must deal with the disposal of this waste. However, we also consider the strategy of treatment of solid waste at the level of the departments of housing and communal services and ecology of Ternopil regional state administration. The main task – to form in the region of five to six centres garbage collection, which should be smetanova line and recycling plant. Then in the field this issue will be resolved, and the problem as such will disappear," said Stepan Barna. We will remind, in region has recorded 7 cases of unauthorized importation of garbage from the city. Brought to administrative responsibility 238 people, mostly for improper operation of waste disposal sites and environmental pollution. With 740 dumps and landfills of solid wastes, which occupy an area of 113.5 hectares, have been certified 91 object, documents of title to the occupied land made only for Zalishchyky, Monastyryska, Kremenets, Pochayev, Terebovlia and Khorostkiv. Moreover, as noted earlier, the reform of environmental services provides for the introduction in Ukraine of the environmental office of the Sheriff. Therefore, the person responsible for environmental safety, should be in every community of Ternopil region. Choose eco-sheriffs would have the local communities at the sessions of the rural and urban councils.
