Starting from 2014, the Government of Japan supports Ukraine in the implementation of infrastructure and humanitarian projects. For example, a project for modernization of Bortnychi aeration station - $ 1 billion U.S. macro - financial assistance of 300 million dollars, the rehabilitation programme of the Eastern regions of Ukraine, providing equipment for medical facilities, medical equipment for the Eastern regions of Ukraine humanitarian assistance for internally displaced persons. Projects in the framework of the assistance provided are implemented according to a clear plan specified that all parties", - said Zubko. He noted that a new aid in the amount of 3.9 million dollars aimed at infrastructure rehabilitation in the Eastern regions of Ukraine, will contribute to social cohesion and small business support in communities affected by the conflict in the Donbass, the development potential of the education sector in the territories of Donetsk and Lugansk regions controlled by the government. The programme is planned to restore the 23 public infrastructure including social, educational, health, transport and energy; to purchase medical equipment for the MOU and demining equipment to SSES; repair of housing; to provide assistance for employment of internally displaced persons. The size of the assistance provided by the Government of Japan together with international organizations from 2014 to 2016 inclusive is at 1.8 billion dollars.
