In the Volyn region Prosecutor's office discussed the issues of combating human trafficking and illegal migration.

The Prosecutor's office in the Volyn region held an interagency meeting of heads of public authorities and law enforcement agencies on combating human trafficking and illegal migration. The meeting was also attended by Chairman of all-Ukrainian coalition of NGOs for combating human trafficking Viktor Valchuk and Chairman of the NGO «Volyn perspectives” Nina Pahom Yuk. Opening the meeting, the Prosecutor of the region Maxim Kirichuk stressed that law enforcement bodies of the region measures against crimes, et&rsquo knitted trafficking, did not provide real and systemic anti-both intra-state and inter-state trafficking. Thanks to the timely coordination of activities of territorial departments of the national police, state border service and the security agencies in the past and current years exposed and stopped activity of three organized criminal groups that carried out illegal transportation of persons through the state border of Ukraine. Considering the border location of the region, complex socio-economic situation in the state, the tendency of people to accept risky offers of employment, there is a need for an immediate intensification of law enforcement activities and carrying out joint information campaigns, law enforcement and Executive authorities with the involvement of community organizations for rose’explanations to the population risk falling into the floor’connected with the human trafficking situation. Special attention requires the protection of the most vulnerable segments of the population, especially of boarding schools, orphanages, children from disadvantaged families, as well as internally displaced persons, prevention of sexual and labour exploitation, including forced begging, adoption for commercial purposes. Acute problem of countering illegal exploitation for black market labour and illegal deprivation of liberty of persons who are in difficult life conditions lack of residency, and identification of criminal groups from the territory of the state conduct trafficking in persons at the international level with the purpose of illegal organ transplants, surrogate motherhood, begging, labour and sexual exploitation. By results of discussion the meeting developed a number of measures to ensure the effective countering of trafficking in human beings and illegal migration.
