Stepan Barna took part in the opening of the national conference of the 500th anniversary of the reformation
"Through spiritual reformation to the renewal of the country" – the slogan began all-Ukrainian scientific-practical conference "the Protestant Church in the context of national history and of social transformations (the 500th anniversary of the reformation)", participation in the opening of which was attended by the Chairman of the Ternopil regional state administration Stepan Barna. As he noted during his speech, shnye realities in the country require us to maximize consolidation regardless of their religious affiliation. Therefore, among the priorities should be to create a common spiritual space in our state. "We have good examples of cooperation on the part of Protestant churches in the name of unity of Ukraine and the overall victory in the East, – said Stepan Barna. – I am pleased to say that the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a decree ¹357 dated August 26, 2016 was determined to conduct this year of the 500th anniversary of the reformation at the state level. According to this decree, we are working towards the realization of a complex of events related to the celebration of the spiritual and moral acquisitions of the Protestant movement on the territory of Ternopil region and Ukraine. This package of measures will give the opportunity to discover the history of our region, to hold conferences, thematic exhibitions in libraries and museums of local lore of the region. At the same time, it is important for us, as Ukrainians, to demonstrate that our choice is a choice is associated with the unity churches, the unity of society and the joint victory during the thematic, educational, cultural, sports and other events". We will remind, the IV national conference will last for two days, April 27-28, on the basis of historical faculty of Ternopil national pedagogical University named after V. Hnatiuk. Among the key issues to be discussed – the history of Christianity, the emergence of Protestant churches, the influence of the reformation on the socio-economic development of the country, the European reformation and its echoes in Ukraine.
