April 29 – opening of the tourist season in Chernihiv
In Chernihiv on April 29 and 30 at the Shaft, the Alley of Heroes, red square and near Catherine's Church will host various events on the occasion of the opening of the tourist season. The action plan and other organizational matters were discussed on April 27, in the Chernigov city Council at the meeting of the organizational Committee for preparation and conduct of festive events from 29 April to 28 may with the participation of Deputy mayor Olga Honch. The meeting was attended by representatives of structural divisions and the municipal enterprises of city Council, Department of culture and tourism, nationalities and religions and sports of the regional state administration and law enforcement agencies. As previously reported, this year's tourist season officially opened the festival "Mammoth fest" on April 29 at 14 o'clock on the red square. According to the chief Director of the festival, head of the military music center Land forces of Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Shevchuk, on April 29 in different locations will include an extensive historical-cultural programme of activities, with the interesting concert program, Cossack entertainment and a variety of workshops, children's program, exhibitions of creative works, as well as holiday trade and setting the record for baking the potato pancakes. In the evening at 20 o'clock will be held the season opening fire show in the festival "Night lights Chernigov". The next day, April 30, for Chernigov and guests of the city will be represented by athletes and children's dance groups, a concert program will work the food area, and children's literary locations, etc. The meeting participants paid special attention to the issues of landscaping and tidying of the venue, as well as law enforcement in the regional center. According to Olga Honch, currently on red square already set the stage and houses, which will be the holiday trade, in connection with this travel through the area is blocked.
