Chairman of the Ternopil regional state administration Stepan Barna held a meeting with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Ukraine, Mr. OLE Terje Horpestad and Advisor on the development of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway in Ukraine Petter Baucom. During the meeting discussed the possibilities of attracting Norwegian investments in the region, as well as to strengthen cooperation between the two sides, both from the Ternopil region, and on the part of Norway. "I want to thank Norway for the statist position on support for the territorial integrity of our country. I understand that the position you occupy in the trade blockade of Russia, causing you damage. That is why we are interested to reimburse you for it through trade and economic relations between Norway and Ternopil region and accordingly to strengthen our cooperation. At the same time, let me remind you that Ternopil oblast is located in the centre of Western Ukraine. We have good logistic links with neighboring countries – Romania, Poland and Belarus. But because of the Ternopil region is waiting for investors", – said Stepan Barna. However, he added that the Ternopil region is a stable region. Here it is possible to work well from the point of view of creation of comfortable conditions for business and for potential investors. "We set a goal to bring one key position: any investor in the Ternopil region, who pays taxes, creates jobs, raises the average wage will receive full support and full cooperation from government authorities. We are actively working towards the implementation of joint projects to attract investment. First of all we are talking about events in the field of alternative energy. We have projects of several foreign companies to build solar and wind power plants. Interesting is the project for the construction of energy farms, implemented in borschiv. That is why we are ready to create conditions for the promotion of the Ternopil region in Norway, and the investment attractiveness of Norway in the Ternopil region", – said Stepan Barna. Full support for Ukraine in the protection and preservation of the territorial integrity and independence and the European choice of the country was expressed by Ambassador extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Norway to Ukraine Mr. OLE Terje Horpestad. According to him, Norway is ready to contribute to the region in several directions, in particular concerning the development of energy efficiency and adaptation in the sphere of Commerce to the European standards.
