The Prosecutor's office of Rivne region identified ways of efficiency of fight against illegal production of amber
Illegal use of mineral resources is the most acute problem of the region. Amber illegal fishing not only caused great ecological damage to the environment, but engages in this activity large number persons, causing social tension among the population. For the purpose of coordination of actions of law enforcement and regulatory authorities for the decision of this actual problem and effective responses to violations in the sphere of subsoil use, the issue discussed 13.07.2017 in the prosecution of Rivne region at the meeting of the interdepartmental working group. The event was held under the chairmanship of the Deputy Prosecutor of the Rivne region Miroslav Patskan with the participation of representatives of all law enforcement agencies and bodies of the state control of the Rivne region, the employees of the Prosecutor's office of area, heads of local prosecution offices. According to the information announced, currently, the territorial police in the Rivne region, is 238 criminal proceedings on the facts of illegal production of raw amber (article 240 criminal code) and another 186 of criminal proceedings is being investigated on the facts of acquisition, receipt, storage or distribution of, proceeds of crime (article 198 criminal code). In these industries seized 1.2 tons of amber, 104 pumps and 39 units of vehicles. Neutralized a criminal group which was engaged in staratelskaya activities. Members of the interagency working group noted that often illegal burstenfabrik is accompanied by an active opposition from the local residents, in connection with which the gathered rose the most pressing issue is to agree on additional urgent measures aimed at stabilizing the state of the law in this area. Also greater efficiency in this area, the Deputy Prosecutor of the region has demanded from heads of local prosecution offices and law enforcement agencies, in particular with regard to the organizers of the illegal production and movement of the buyers of amber and individuals who "protect" staratels activities. All participants of the interagency working group made suggestions to the action plan and identified specific ways of further work required to effectively combat crimes in the sphere of the environment. Following the discussion, the actual problem identified in a number of joint concerted action to intensify activities in this direction.
