The Prosecutor's office of Rivne region summed up the work for the 1st half of 2017
Under the chairmanship of the Prosecutor of the Rivne oblast Bohdan Podovinnikova 31.07.2017 held a final meeting at which discussed the results of activity of prosecution bodies of the region on the issues of implementation of constitutional powers in the 1st half of 2017 and set objectives for the next period. In the meeting took part first Deputy and Deputy Prosecutor of the region, heads of structural divisions of regional Prosecutor's office, local Prosecutor's offices, their first deputies and deputies, heads of departments of local prosecutors. Opening the operational meeting, the Prosecutor of the region Bogdan Polubinski focused team not only on the achievements of the Agency workers, but also on the need for urgent solutions of problems that are objectively caused by the complicated criminal situation in the country and the region. The results of the work in some areas, the Prosecutor of the Rivne region declared insufficient and demanded the workers to scale up activities and enhance its effectiveness. Focusing on the priorities of the Prosecutor of the region noted that it remains an important work for the prevention, detection and suppression of crimes connected with illegal mining and smuggling of amber, predatory deforestation, disturbances in the areas of land relations, public procurement, banking. We focused on the necessity of exposing the criminal groups in these areas. Urgent revitalization requires the work of law enforcement agencies to expose corruption among officials, identify corruption in the customs and land areas associated with illegal logging. Should strengthen prosecutorial oversight of investigative activities of the police. The achievements in individual areas of activities, issues and ways of their decision, informed the first Deputy, Deputy Prosecutor of the region. And also heard reports of heads of separate divisions of regional Prosecutor's office, local prosecutors and chiefs of territorial departments. Positive noted that thanks to joint actions of all law enforcement bodies of Rivne region are not allowed the growth of crime. Procedural prosecutors provided public charge in 1134 criminal trials (including sentencing – proceedings 923). In the implementation of activities in the field of international legal cooperation made 33 requests received from competent authorities of foreign States. On the claims of prosecutors in the protection of the interests of the state collected 51 million hryvnia. Taken steps to return 1145 hectares of land. In the area of juvenile justice for the response of prosecutors resumed the right for about 500 children, the state and the children recovered property and funds for the sum about 800 thousand hryvnias. Prosecutors from the beginning is solved more than 1,600 citizens. 600 inhabitants of the region were adopted by the prosecutors personally. After analyzing the state of Affairs, the head of the regional Prosecutor's office put the request to the employees to radically change the approach to work and to improve its quality in almost all areas. However, he noted that the local Prosecutor's office worked not efficient enough, therefore, demanded from heads of local prosecution offices maximum adoption of measures aimed at improving the efficiency of the implementation of prosecutorial discretion. As a result, the meeting adopted the decision on determining the number of measures that need to be implemented to strengthen the rule of law in the region.
