Chelated micronutrient fertilizers: What is it?

In the difficult conditions of development of agrarian business in Ukraine, micronutrient fertilizers often be a decisive factor in competition, and sometimes survival. This is due to the effect of trace elements on plants, namely:

the
  • Increase in crop yields, an average of 5-20% for industrial crops and 10-40% for vegetables;
  • the Improvement of quality of agricultural products increases the content of protein and sugar, increases lubricity, reduces the level of nitrates;
  • Increase drought and frost resistance of plants;
  • by Strengthening the natural immunity of plants before pathogens;
  • Fungicidal properties of micronutrients;
  • Ability to remove plants from the stress caused by the action of crop protection agents, and other adverse effects.

by the way, in Ukraine micronutrient (microfertilizers, micronutrient fertilizers) produces research and production center "REAKOM": .

trace Minerals are an integral part of the food of plants, is impossible without them, their development and yield formation. Minerals needed for plant life, they cannot be replaced by any other substances. The amount of trace elements necessary for the organism of plants, relatively small in comparison with quantity of these macronutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium). But even a small deficiency of these substances can cause sickness (chlorosis), the impossibility of assimilation of the basic microelements and even death of plants.

The main biogenic minerals, the amount of which in the plant is quite significant, include: iron, manganese, zinc, copper and boron. Also necessary and molybdenum. The rest of the chemical elements that are present in the soil and plants in very small quantities, are referred to the ultramicroelements is of cobalt, Nickel, vanadium, lithium, iodine, etc.
Advantages of liquid forms of micronutrients:

  1. the Convenience of preparation of the working solution, because in the process of rapid dissolution is not necessary to prepare the stock solution, you can pour micronutrient fertilizers directly into the tank;
  2. Easily measure the right amount;
  3. the Complete dissolution of the drug and, consequently, its maximum efficiency;
  4. Fast and easy preparation of working solutions for spraying.

the Disadvantages of liquid forms of micronutrients:

the
  • a Somewhat lower concentration of active ingredients is 3-6 %;
  • a shorter shelf life and freezing at low temperatures.

In dry preparations, in metal content 6-15 % (crystalline or powder), the main advantage is the ease of storage and transportation, since the product is more concentrated.

Thus, if you plan to store the drug in cold or within a few years, or if you plan to transport over long distances, you should give preference to the dry substances. In other cases, it is wiser to choose a liquid form of the micronutrients to avoid potential problems associated with incomplete dissolution. That's why in Ukraine the best is liquid form.
