In the Volyn region law enforcement authorities warn for poppy cultivation provides for criminal liability up to 7 years of imprisonment
In the Volyn region, the cases of detection in backyards of citizens of the plant opium poppy. Planting this plant, the locals are not always aware vdca that it provides for administrative and even criminal liability. So, in village Acres Gorokhovsky district, on the plot 52-the summer local resident identified 1521 the poppy plant. A pensioner in the village of Zhuravychi of Kivertsi district has grown 1210 such plants, it odnoselchanka – 970, 743 498. In the village of Zavidovo on Harkovshini the police found on the plot 49-the summer hostess 581 plant opium poppy. Withdrawn plants sent for examination. On all these facts criminal proceedings under article 310 of UK of Ukraine (crops or cultivation of somnolent poppy or hemp). Note that illegal crops or illegal cultivation of somnolent poppy in the amount of from one hundred to p'atiot plants or hemp in the amount of from ten to p'fifty plants, is punished with fine from one hundred to p'atiot non-taxable minimum incomes of citizens (from 1.7 thousand UAH. up to 8,5 thousand UAH.) or with arrest for the term up to six months, or restraint of liberty for a term up to three years. Illegal crops or illegal cultivation of somnolent poppy in the amount of p'atiot or more plants or hemp in the amount of p'fifty or more plants is punishable by deprivation of liberty for a term of three to seven years. For illegal crops or illegal cultivation of somnolent poppy in an amount up to one hundred cannabis plants, or up to ten plants, according to the sanctions of article 106-2 of the code of Ukraine on administrative offences, punishable with a fine ranging from eighteen to one hundred untaxed minimum incomes of citizens (from 306 to 1700 UAH.) with confiscation of illegally grown narkotikami plants.
