Experts are working to change elements of the coat of arms of Ternopil
the Initiative group of more than 200 activists was sent to the Ternopil city Council petition to amend the heraldic symbols of the regional center, in particular to replace six-point star on an octagonal and to complement the coat of arms of the Christian cross. Deputy mayor Leonid Bitsyura notes that the letter was given certain arguments concerning the change of the coat of arms in accordance with heraldic requirements. Thus was created a special Commission, which includes historians, local historians and representatives of the heraldic societies of Ukraine, which should develop several sketches the new coat of arms of Ternopil. The colours will remain the same as it was. New version of the emblem will be presented in 2017.
