The overwintering of winter crops was held under difficult weather conditions. A sharp decrease in temperature occurred under light snow cover. But on 8 January has been an increase in the height of snow cover, which leveled the negative impact of low temperatures in the future. The minimum soil temperature at the depth of tillering node of winter wheat (1-3 cm) was in the range of 6-8? the cold, above the critical temperature of freezing of winter wheat, which on 10 January was 15-16? frost (for plants in the phase of tillering). Winter wheat was in winter resting. However, given the short duration of this cold snap, it can be noted that significant damage to crops of winter cereals it is not caused. The results of the surveys in good condition is 26,5 % germination (81,4 thousand ha), in satisfactory – 38,0 % (117,0 thousand ha), weak and sparse – 35,5 % (109,1 thousand hectares). In addition, 37.6% of seedlings of winter rape are in good condition (25.6 thousand ha), in satisfactory – 35,5 % (24.2 thousand ha), weak and sparse and 26.9 % (18.3 thousand hectares). Preliminary results of the state of overwintering will be known after the sprouting of the monoliths, the first term of selection which falls on January 25.
