Thursday, February 23, during a joint meeting with the heads of law enforcement agencies, which discussed the state of corruption and crime, the Prosecutor of the Rivne oblast Oleg Sobol focused on the issue of responding to violations of rules, regulations and standards concerning safety of traffic on the roads. So, he said that the negative trend of recent years is the increased amount of road accidents. Only last year in the Rivne region was more than 400, including 69 fatalities. Often the main cause of fatal accidents is the improper condition of the roads. - Law enforcement authorities must analyze the causal relationship between deaths on the roads and the maintenance of the roadway in a safe condition, – said the Prosecutor of the region. – If the grounds must be registered criminal proceedings under article 288 of the criminal code of Ukraine upon violation of the rules, regulations and standards relating to traffic safety.
