Yesterday, June 19, Chernihiv mayor Vladislav Atroshenko met with the initiative group of Chernigov, who propose to establish in the city, on the banks of the river Bobbed, and close to Church of saints Mikhail and Fyodor, a sculptural composition of bronze figures of these saints of Chernigov. So right now, it is true, because it is the symbols of invincibility Ukraine: Prince Michael is the symbol of indestructibility of the Ukrainian state, and the boyar Fedor – the Ukrainian people. It is historical figures that represent what we are opposed to the aggressor, the enemy. May have to move the case, which has long been begun and not completed. 20 years ago it was a diploma work of Gennady, my son, - said Alexey Ershov. She was dedicated to the 750th anniversary of the famous events in the Horde. Gennady then produced the forms and plaster figures at their own expense (forms, by the way, survived). At the same time these pieces, tinted in bronze, was exhibited in the temple. Ukrainian Academy of Arts recommended this work to the city, and on a monument talked a lot, but then it somehow stalled. If we don't do something now, we might not make never. And it would be very appropriate there: Chernigov saints, near the Church, consecrated in their honor. The fundraiser will be engaged in the community, which then give the sculptures to the Chernihiv as a gift. Vladislav Atroshenko responded to the initiative group that the city is ready to meet and consider the location of this object in the design of green areas over the Web and make a platform with a base under the monument. Since the expenditures of city funds are governed by the budget legislation, the question of acquisition of a city of the pre-defined sculptor can not go. But in all that is not contrary to the law, the city society will support. Later that same day the idea of installation of the monument to the saints Mikhail and Fyodor proposed by the initiative group of the place was supported by the city's architectural and town-planning Council at its meeting.
