Vitamin B13 (orotic acid)
Vitamin B13, latin name - OROTIC ACID. Non-hormonal anabolic agent. Has a general stimulating effect on metabolism. Is a stimulator of the synthesis of nucleic acids involved in protein synthesis, enhances the reparative and regenerative processes in tissues.
Orotic acid enhances the formation of albumen in the liver, especially in conditions of prolonged hypoxia that occurs in some diseases, such as heart failure. Improves the portability of cardiac glycosides, increases diuresis.
Sources:
Yeast, milk (especially a horse), liver, dairy products
Synthesis in the body:
Synthesized in the intestine in lactating women is excreted in milk
Action
Stimulates the exchange of protein in the body, normalizes liver function, contributing to the regeneration of hepatocytes.
Orotic acid is involved in the synthesis of methionine, an exchange of folic acid and pantothenic acid.
Orotic acid improves reproductive health, a positive effect on fetal development during pregnancy.
Was shown the effectiveness of orotic acid in children from 6 months to 10 years, suffering from various skin diseases (eczema, atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, ichthyosis).
Daily dose of orotic acid is:
0,5-1,5 g, sometimes up to 3 g for adults,
0,125-0,5 g for children 1-3 years
