The use of a dietary supplement RUDVITOL as an adjuvant in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis.

Main part of the biologically active food additives (BAA), Echinacea purpurea RUDVITOL, in the wild growing in North America. This is a perennial herb with short rhizome and numerous thin roots. Medicinal properties of Echinacea has long been known to American Indians and used by them. The plant became the object of study and clinical use as pharmacological tools in the U.S. since 1895. Over the past 10 years, echinacea devoted more than 350 research papers. Preparations of echinacea, thanks to its high efficiency, are widely used in world medical practice. The heightened interest in Echinacea purpurea due to increased unfavorable factors for the human body and reducing general immunity.
Feedstock for production of dietary supplements RUDVITOL is elevated portion of Echinacea purpurea, is cut during the flowering plants - from July to September.
The chemical composition of Echinacea have been studied sufficiently. The main bioactive components of this preparation are described alkaloids, alkylamido, izobugilamidy, high-molecular polysaccharides, glycosides, terpenoids, etc. With the presence of polysaccharides, scientists linked immunomodulatory properties of Echinacea. Polysaccharides are able to increase the number of phagocytes in the spleen and bone marrow, and to enhance the migration of granulocytes in peripheral blood. Many phenolic compounds of echinacea have a variety of pharmacological actions: antispasmodic, anti-allergic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antitumor, estrogen, radioprotective.
Echinacea contains caffeic acid, which has antibacterial, antifungal, antioxidant, membranostimuliruyuschimi properties.
Betaine extracted from echinacea, can adjust the lipid metabolism.
Saponins possess antiviral and immunostimulatory activity.
In the leaves of Echinacea purpurea contains pro-vitamin A and vitamin C to promote leukocyte and macrophage macrocytosis.
Alkaloids of echinacea have mestnoanesteziruyuschim and anti-inflammatory properties.
Echinacea purpurea contains zinc, selenium, lithium, copper, manganese, iron, cobalt - trace elements necessary for normal functioning of the immune mechanisms.
Along with the available drugs are being developed biologically active supplements on the basis of Echinacea purpurea. Creating a dietary supplement by the original technology and formulation complements the arsenal of immunomodulatory drugs and expands the possibilities of their use in clinical practice. In order to enhance immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory properties of a biologically active additive RUDVITOL introduced licorice root extract, vitamin C, rutin, zinc and selenium.
Indications:
- Prevention and treatment of influenza and SARS;
- Immunodeficiency in acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of various sites;
- Anemia, leukopenia;
- States after antibiotic therapy, cytotoxic, radiation therapy. Suggested Use: 1-2 capsules 3 times a day. The course is taking 10-25 days.
Contraindications: individual intolerance to the components.
The aim of the research: the influence of the drug on patients with pulmonary tuberculosis with symptoms of SARS, the symptoms of specific intoxication and asthenic states.
To achieve this aim we used the following methods:
- Clinical observation of patients;
- Common blood tests;
- General Urine;
- Blood chemistry. The study was conducted in outpatients (ie, mild).
Bioadditive ART LIFE RUDVITOL was assigned to 10 patients (study group) with different clinical forms of pulmonary tuberculosis: infiltrative - 6 (60%), focal - 3 (30%), disseminated -1 (10%).
Among them were two men (20%) and 8 women (80%). Patient age: 20 years - 1 person. (10%), 30-39 years, 7 people. (70%), 55-1 (10%), 60-1 patients (10%). Eight patients were newly diagnosed with TB, two with late relapses. Six patients (60%) complained of weakness, fatigue, decreased performance, night sweats, drowsiness, and 3 patients (30%) appeared on the eve of a cold, a feeling of nasal congestion, headache, malaise, two of them noted an increase in temperature to 37 , 5 and 37,8 ° C. One patient specific complaints at that time did not show, but he had a history of frequent colds. In 6 patients with symptoms of specific intoxication (weakness, sweating, etc.) before starting RUDVITOL not been any marked changes in the blood and urine tests (this is not typical for a minor forms of tuberculosis). Only 2 marked lymphocytosis small: 32 and 35% (norm 24-30%). Three patients with symptoms of SARS had accelerated ESR: 22, 23 and 25 mm / h. Two of them had little leukocytosis: 8,6 and 8,3 (normal 6-8). The control group consisted of 20 persons with various clinical forms of pulmonary tuberculosis.
All patients of the study group received RUDVITOL (1 capsule 3 times a day). The course of treatment was 20 days. All received standard treatment at the same time. Portability RUDVITOLA patients was satisfactory, and only one patient noted slight diuretic effect of the drug. While taking RUDVITOL 3 patients with acute respiratory symptoms begin to normal state within 3-5 days: during the first 3 days the temperature became normal, stop worrying weakness, headache. By 05.04 the day gone cold and the feeling of nasal congestion. Monitoring blood tests carried out on day 6, consistent with the norm. In a patient with frequent episodes of colds, there was no sign of the deteriorating state of health for the entire course of treatment. Three of the six patients (50%) reported improvement in general condition, mood, increase efficiency, the disappearance of weakness during the first 10 days of admission. Two (33.3%) reported disappearance of symptoms of intoxication and a significant improvement in general condition to completion of treatment. One patient (16.6%) in patients receiving RUDVITOL to 16 day stop worrying weakness, malaise, fatigue, only occasionally on the background of well-being he is sweating at night. Picture of blood to the tenth day in all patients of the study group corresponded to normal. Patients of the control group of similar changes were noted.
Conclusion
Clinical trials of dietary supplement firms ART LIFE RUDVITOL pulmonary tuberculosis patients with symptoms of specific intoxication, as well as with symptoms of SARS, has shown its good tolerability and no side effects, rapid regression of clinical symptoms in patients receiving.
A set of biologically active substances contained in extracts of Echinacea and licorice, as well as ascorbic acid, zinc oxide and routines contribute to the normalization of the blood picture of patients.
Results of the study suggest the feasibility of introducing supplements ART LIFE "RUDVITOL" in complex therapy of patients with various forms of pulmonary tuberculosis as a restorative and preventive medicine at risk of SARS.
RUDVITOL influence on the course of a specific process in the lungs it would be advisable to follow it with longer use (within 3-4 months).
